Studded tires

I am thinking about getting a set of stock tires studded, for an ice race on Lake George. I know that many of you get your tires studded for winter riding. Are there any locations close to the NY/ Canada border (I would come up rte 87/15) that provide tire studding service? Also, how expensive is it to have 4 tires studded?

Hey there,
The cost of tire studding is aprox. $125.00 if you remove the tires yourself, i beleave it is a little more if they are on the bike i know of a guy about 20 minutes from Hemmingford if you give me a couple of days i will find his number for you.

Thank you very much! That would be a great help. 20 minutes from Hemmingford is an easy drive for me. I like the studding, as opposed to ice screws, as you can run the studded tires year round.

I have the phone number for michel (tire studs) i will give it to Ken. After seeing the bikes with studded tires handle on the icey sections this weekend i am thinking bout having it done to my tires.

if its just for racing ice screw do a beter job and are easier to instal you can do it your self
